The 2024 MUBI Fest Buenos Aires announced its lineup of 20 top art-house films that will be screened at the Cine Arte Cacodelphia theater between September 12 and 15.  

The event will feature some of the top films from the festival circuit, such as Cannes entries Motel Destino, directed by Karim Aïnouz, Rodrigo Moreno’s celebrated The Delinquents, and Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance, which won the Best Screenplay award. 

The festival also includes the latest from renowned Argentine filmmaker and writer Martín Rejtman: The Practice (2023) and the 2024 award-winning documentary Riders, a deep dive into the grueling daily lives of young platform economy workers at both ends of South America, filmed during the pandemic in Argentina and Venezuela. 

Another Argentine entry is Francisco Lezama’s short film An Odd Turn, the winner of the Golden Bear for best short film award at the Berlin Film Festival.

The MUBI Fest, which this year will extend to nine cities worldwide, including Bogotá, Chicago, México City, Istambul, and Manchester, will also feature a selection of classics from acclaimed filmmakers like Andrei Tarkovsky, Aki Kaurismäki, David Lynch, Wong Kar Wai, and Wim Wenders, as well as Oscar-nominated and winning films.
