President Alberto Fernández gets nerve block for back pain

He is currently at the presidential residence in Olivos

President Alberto Fernández has received a “radicular block,” an injection to provide pain relief for pinched nerves, according to a press release from the Presidential Medical Unit.

The president was hospitalized briefly on Tuesday after first suffering lumbar pain, which was later diagnosed as a herniated disc.

According to the communiqué, signed by Dr. Federico Saavedra, the president is back at the presidential residence in Olivos, where he will be getting the appropriate checkups.

This is not the first health issue for which the president has had to go to hospital during his time in office. Fernández suffered from a gastrointestinal hemorrhage in November 2022 in Bali during the G-20 summit and was replaced by Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero in his duties.
