Major Scandinavian companies including Scania, Tetra Pak and Novo Nordisk will participate in a business seminar on September 23, aimed at strengthening relationships with Argentina. The companies will represent the tech, logistics, science and production sectors.
The Sustainable Nordics seminar is organized by the embassies of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, together with their respective binational business chambers in Argentina. The event will focus on promoting sustainable development, in particular on the energy transition and profitable green growth in an “inspirational and challenging institutional framework,” the organizers said.
The seminar is taking place on Wednesday, September 25 at 9 a.m. Argentine time. It will be streamed on YouTube via this link. No registration is required.
In addition to representatives from the companies, the event will feature special guests from national, provincial and local bodies, who will participate in-person and virtually to discuss growth opportunities, national industry, routes of development and investment, and the Nordic business ecosystem in Argentina.
Ambassadors from Scandinavian countries will discuss their vision for sustainable growth in Argentina, while business representatives will discuss best practices.
Scandinavian business in Argentina
Currently, some 30 Norwegian companies do business in Argentina, mostly focused on energy, natural resources and the maritime sector. They include Hydro, Equinor, Estremar, Yara and Odfjell Terminals. Leading Norwegian technology is currently used by Norwegian and Argentine companies alike.
Sweden, likewise, has around 30 companies with operations in Argentina, employing over 17,000 people. Bilateral trade between the countries reached US$300 million in 2022. In that year, Sweden invested US$120 million, reflecting growing interest in sectors such as mining and electric vehicles.
