Get Out! A weekend of famous live rock bands and raving coffee

From music festivals to a.m. coffee raves, we’ve got your good vibes covered Friday through Sunday

It’s a weekend for getting out and getting down, with gigs from Argentine rock group Divididos to a Saturday a.m. coffee rave, here’s your hip swinging Buenos Aires recommendations.

Festival Buena Vibra

Saturday 22 — 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Ciudad Universitaria Sports Field (Núñez)
Tickets ARS $75,000 tickets can be purchased online

The Buena Vibra Festival returns with a lineup that blends renowned artists and emerging talent. There was debate over whether the rumors were true, but it’s confirmed that Argentine pioneers Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas are reuniting to headline the festival.

The event is known for featuring big names as well as rising groups. Music is spread across four stages, and it’s an ideal setting to chill out in the open air, eat good food, and find your new favorite artist.

Definitely catch local indie phenomenon Winona Riders who recently released their third album No Hagas Que Me Arrepienta (which translates to “Don’t Make Me Regret It”). Speaking of things you won’t want to regret — don’t miss a chance to dance to the catchy beats of indie pop group Bandalos Chinos.

A.M. Coffee Rave

Saturday 22 — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Air Coffee (Av libertador 6536, Belgrano)
Free if you stay outside of the cafe.
ARS$60,000 for entry, tickets can be purchased online

If you’re a grumpy party-goer with a knack for Irish exits, more concerned about how they’re going to feel the next day than they are about peer pressure, this event is for you.

It’s Buenos Aires’ first ever coffee rave. The concept has taken off in bigger cities around the world, and it’s finally making its way down to our corner of the globe. It’s a daytime dance party fueled by DJs and espresso. You can check out the Spotify playlist here.

The ticketing options are, well, interesting. Organizers promote that it’s a free event if you stand outside of the cafe and dance on the sidewalk (you can buy coffee from the cafe). However if you want to enter the location, tickets are ARS$60,000 and include two drinks and something to eat. We’ll let you make the judgement call on that one.

Divididos

Sunday 23 — 9 p.m.
Estadio Obras (Av. del Libertador 7395, Núñez)
Tickets start at ARS$50,000 and can be purchased online

If you haven’t seen Divididos before, it’s time to check this long-standing Argentine rock band that sprouted from legendary 1980s band SUMO. They’re performing both Saturday and Sunday night at Obras Stadium, but the Saturday night is already sold out — and there’s a reason for that.

Known for mixing hard rock music with Argentine folk, you’ll hear new classics like the laid-back “Spaghetti del Rock” and energy-pumping others such as “El 38”. Word of warning: their concerts can get loud, so do yourself a favor and throw a pair of earplugs in your back pocket.
