For anyone who’s still stuck in the past, and likes it that way — this one’s for you. Here are your Buenos Aires recommendations to indulge in a bit of nostalgia this long weekend.
Back in Time Party

Friday 2 — 11:30 p.m.
C Art Media (Av. Corrientes 6271)
AR$15,000, Tickets available online
A celebration of the most iconic movies and greatest retro hits with live music, attractions, giveaways, and more. Eight musicians onstage will take you on a journey through classics such as “Ghostbusters,” “Footloose,” “The NeverEnding Story,” and “Back to the Future.” Because they don’t make ‘em like they used to.
From the creators of the Future Party, this time-traveling, audiovisual experience will have you singing along to the classic songs you know all the lyrics to.
More than just a themed party, it’s the perfect excuse to relive the oldies, simmer in a bit of nostalgia, and be surrounded by people who don’t make you feel old.
Sticker Fest

Saturday 3 — 1 to 7 p.m.
Bartolomé Mitre 2455 (Once)
Free entry
Get ready for the epicenter of illustration, pop culture, and who knows what other stickers you’ll find at Sticker Fest, the city’s biggest sticker event. Collect them, give them away, share them, or stick them on the fridge. Go wild!
Expect 135 stands and three floors of sticker vendors for May’s event. Show up early: there’s a free sticker sheet for the first 2,000 people who enter. From capybaras to Taylor Swift, consider all your sticker needs beyond met.
El Mamut

Saturday 3 — 6 p.m. to midnight
Quetren Quetren (Av. Olazabal 1784, Barrio Chino)
AR$9,000, tickets available online
Make your way to Barrio Chino for this poesía, parrilla y perreo, which translates horribly in English, but I guess could be described as a mix of poetry, barbecue, and dancing — all taking place at an indoor football pitch. Regardless, it’s not to be missed.
Don’t worry about choosing between listening, eating, and boogying, because you’re going to get all of the above. So take a walk on the wild side in this ritual of poetry, DJs, and choripan. Take our word for it, this is cooler than your normal poetry event.
Tribute to ‘Esperando la Carroza’

Weeklong tribute with events starting Tuesday 6
Locations around Buenos Aires
“Esperando la Carroza,” the iconic Argentine comedy, turns 40 this year — and Buenos Aires is celebrating with a week of tributes honoring both the film and beloved actor Antonio Gasalla. Festivities kick off on Tuesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. at Teatro San Martín, with a talk featuring original cast members Luis Brandoni, Mónica Villa, Betiana Blum, and producer Diana Frey, followed by a free screening at 9 p.m. at the Centro Cultural San Martín. Tickets are first come, first served.
On Wednesday, May 7, the cult documentary “Carroceros” screens at Centro Cultural 25 de Mayo, also free. And on Thursday, May 8, “Esperando la Carroza” returns to commercial theaters. Relive unforgettable scenes, famed lines, and the dark humor that made the film a national treasure. The event is organized by the city’s Ministry of Culture and partners.
