Get Out – Pride Edition: Love, glitter, and after parties!

The Buenos Aires Pride Parade is one of the most joyful city street demonstrations and here are some after parties to keep you dancing all night long

It’s Buenos Aires Pride Parade weekend, one of the most exhilarating street demonstrations in the city. Plaza de Mayo will be flush with people celebrating pride the Argentine way on Saturday: with a party that is also a protest. The event starts at 10 a.m. and demonstrators will march to Argentina’s Congress building at 4 p.m. (more information here).

The one political rally where freedom does walk forward, Pride Parade is a day-long celebration of empowerment, empathy, and resistance. It does have a scheduled end time, but if you don’t want to stop dancing to love and freedom (and to all things glitter), there are plenty of choices to keep going after headliner Valeria Lynch’s show is over.

Here are some of our favorites:

Maricafe

Saturday — post Pride and until 3 AM

Palermo’s LGBT cafĂ© and bookstore will ride its own float (or camiona) during pride parade, featuring Djs Matzorama, Ana Logue (@anageeklogue), and TSF (@tecnomansf), host Lea Gareis (@aybrit) and cheerleading by Delfines BA.

They’re also throwing their own party at the cafe with the promise of an all-out street party. If you’re in the neighborhood, you can also try La Silvia After Party at Congo’s garden in Honduras 5329, which will screen episodes of The L Word and offer a glitter bar to get your looks up by @hechizosglitter .

PuticlĂș

From 10.30 pm
Marcelo T de Alvear 980

The coolest LGBTQA basement in Buenos Aires, PuticlĂș will be hosting a Danceteria After Party starting at 10.30 p.m., featuring DJs @indignokid, @morschhh.h and @sixmo92.

PuticlĂș is normally free admission, but on Saturday they will be asking for a AR$4000 voluntary contribution, which is basically the price of a cup of coffee in Palermo or Chacagiales. There’s no ticket selling or reservations, so it is a good idea to show up early and start your own Pride After Parties Tour there.

Remeneo by Polenta

Beatflow
Av CĂłrdoba 5509

Two of the most hyped Buenos Aires parties are matching up for Pride night: Polenta will have their own float at the parade during the day, and they’re bringing their unique energy to Remeneo Club at Beatflow in Palermo.

The party is +18 only, starting five minutes before midnight. The last batch of tickets is going for AR$20,000, available at passline.
