Get Out! A weekend of festivals — from folklore to used books

It’s going to be sunny(ish), and the weekend, and what more could one possibly want? Besides your Buenos Aires recommendations of course.

Second hand is all the rage this weekend, from used books to vintage fashion. Or you can go even further back in time and head to the Mataderos Fair for traditional music and gaucho culture.

Here’s our picks for getting out of the house and getting a tan this weekend, or maybe just being grateful that spring is coming soon(ish). We hope.

It’s not just therapeutic, it’s also a form of resistance, of driving change.” Organized by Aristipo Libros’ owner Patricio Rago, the Used Books Fair will feature some of the best second-hand booksellers in the city, as well as interviews, debates, and activities with renowned writers like Mariana Enríquez, Selva Almada, and Jorge Consiglio. Some of the stands will also offer books in English.

The event will include an area to buy food and live music from the Bourbon Sweethearts and Rumbo Tumba.
