Hoping to visit Rio in luxury? Then you’re in luck.
Emirates Airlines will be running a first-class route between Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro between October 27 and December 4. Travelers with a budget for comfort, take note: it will be the only first-class flight serving the popular route. The flights from the Argentine capital will then continue on to Dubai, and vice versa.
The eight private suites on the plane have seats that turn into fully horizontal beds with electronic privacy screens, personal minibars, and gourmet meals, among other amenities.
According to Emirates’ announcement, their flights EK247 and EK 248 will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, which has a three-class structure, instead of their two-class Boeing 777-200LR. This adds 52 seats in each flight. The Boeing 777-300ER offers eight luxury first class cabins.
Emirates will also add a fifth weekly flight starting on November 2.
Direct flights from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro typically take three hours and run from both Ministro Pistarini (Ezeiza) and Jorge Newbery (Aeroparque) airports. Travelers looking to fly to Brazil on a more modest budget can also find budget and mid-range options from airlines including AerolÃneas Argentinas, British Airways, Flybondi, Jetsmart, and Gol.
