Temperatures are expected to reach 36°C (97°F) today in the provinces of Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Santiago del Estero, Santa Fe, Córdoba, San Luis, Mendoza, Neuquén, La Pampa, and Buenos Aires.

Strong winds of up to 90 kilometers per hour are expected to blow through Chubut, Santa Cruz, and Tierra del Fuego, and storms are forecast in the provinces of San Juan, San Luis, and Mendoza.

Authorities in the National Weather System (Sistema Meteorológico Nacional) are advising the public to stay in ventilated areas, avoid exercising during the hottest hours of the day, drink water frequently and look after older adults and children, who are the most affected by high temperatures.

They also recommend eating fruit and vegetables instead of hot meals and wearing light clothing.

In storm-prone areas, residents are being advised not to take out the trash, to avoid being outdoors (especially on the beach, near lakes, rivers, and swimming pools), and to stay away from trees and lampposts.
