This orchestra, now with more than twenty years of history, revolutionized the tango scene with its musical proposal and transgressive aesthetic. They’re now featuring a new formation with Matías Wilson on piano; Manuel Barrios on bandoneón; Andrés Hojman on viola; Julia Testa, Martín Elter, and Juan Villegas Restrepo on violins; and Yuri Venturin on double bass, vocals, and musical direction.
They’re presenting their seventh studio album titled Basta (which translates to “Enough”). In addition to their music, the band independently releases their albums, manages their own radio station, and runs their own club: Club Atlético Fernández Fierro. La Ultima Sesion de Freud (“Freud’s last session” in English), is a hypothetical heated debate between Dr. Sigmund Freud (played by Luis Machín) and C.S. Lewis (played by Javier Lorenzo).
Renowned playwright Daniel Veronese’s adaptation of Mark St. Germain’s piece centers on psychoanalyst Freud, who invites the young academic C.S. Lewis to his home in London. On this day, England enters World War II, and they discuss the existence of God, love, sex, and the meaning of life.
After a successful tour through the country’s major cities, the dramatic comedy returns to the stage at Picadero Theater. It’s the winner of five awards including ACE Best Actor and ACE Best Director.
