We’re saying “thank you, more please” when it comes to these long weekends, and keeping you busy with Buenos Aires recommendations — everything from a good sandwich to, well, meeting the love of your life.

Pinder Fest
Saturday 21 — 8 p.m.
Vorterix (Av. Federico Lacroze 3455, Colegiales)
Tickets ARS $35,000, can be purchased online
While there was some debate in all caps with my editor about are they marketing the idea of going to a bar and talking to someone as a novel concept? (The answer to that is, yes.) We still decided to include it, because if it isn’t broken…
This night “off the apps” is designed to create real life connections through games and conversation spots, boasting the opportunity to save time from fake profiles or photoshopped pics. So dance, talk, and look someone in the eyes. Remember when that used to be the norm?

Samba Vinyl Fair in Roma
Saturday 21 — 2 to 6 p.m.
Roma (Anchorena 806, Abasto)
The Samba vinyl fair is back in Abasto with a collective crate full of variety, rarities, and a carefully curated selection. It’s an afternoon of music in all its physical forms — vinyl, CDs, cassettes and more.
All paired with Buenos Aires-style pizza, great homemade empanadas, dreamy little sandwiches, and craft vermouth in Bar Roma, a 98 year-old notable cafe turned into one of coolest pizzerias in town. For this edition, there’s a very special guest on the decks — Hugo Lobo, founder of Dancing Mood, and a key figure in Argentina’s ska and instrumental funk scene.

Weekend Food Festivals
The Sandwich Festival
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 — noon to 8 p.m.
Hipódromo de Palermo (Avenida del Libertador and Dorrego)
Free entry
This is the first edition of the festival, with stalls and food trucks featuring sandwiches of the world (typical sandwiches from different countries), signature sandwiches (creations from Buenos Aires restaurants and bars), and viral sandwiches (social media sensations).
Buenos Aires Flavors
Saturday 21 — 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday 22 — 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Parque Thays (Av. del Libertador and Ayacucho, Recoleta)
Free entry
It’s a weekend for foodies, this family-friendly Sabor a Buenos Aires festival features live music and 45 food stalls serving everything from classic neighborhood dishes to cutting-edge culinary creations. Sample the city’s gastronomy — from steakhouses and cafés to bakeries, bodegones, pizzerias, ice cream shops, and much more — all in a large open-air fair.

El Mamut: Poetry, Barbecue and Dancing
Sunday 22 — 4 to 10 p.m.
Club Social 911 (Julián Álvarez 1272, Palermo)
Tickets are ARS $8,000, available online
Make your way to Palermo for this poesía, parrilla y perreo, which translates horribly in English, but I guess could be described as a mix of poetry, barbecue, and twerking. Regardless, it’s not to be missed.
Don’t worry about choosing between listening, eating, and boogying, because you’re going to get all of the above. So take a walk on the wild side in this ritual of poetry, DJs, and choripan. Take our word for it, this is cooler than your normal poetry event.

Stop-motion Animation Festival
Monday 23 through Sunday June 29
Various locations across Buenos Aires
The eighth edition of SMOF is the only festival in South America dedicated exclusively to stop-motion animation, and it’s an international reference point. The festival is a full week of screenings, labs, workshops, competitions, masterclasses, talks, panels, and gatherings with key figures in both national and international animation.
The independent festival is geared toward a young adult audience with an international and competitive scope, and a focus on audiovisual training and education. It takes place in various venues across the city, including Cine Gaumont, Centro Cultural Borges, and Universidad del Cine. A full list of programing is available online.
