Martes De La Grande — Jam sessions

La Grande (Dumont 4040, Chacarita)

Tuesdays — 7 p.m.

Tickets are ARS$12,000 and can be purchased online

Live music, DJs, jam sessions, cocktails, food, ping pong, foosball. Have we convinced you yet? Martes De La Grande is a weekly jam sesh where the musical group La Grande, directed by Santiago Vázquez — creator of La Bomba de Tiempo and Pan — performs.

La Grande is a rhythmic improvisation band that uses the repertoire from Santiago Vázquez’s various albums as raw material to deconstruct, remix, and mashup live on stage. The band consists of bass, drums, sax, trombone, cello, guitar, and keyboards and they regularly feature guest artists as well.

The second half of the evening is a jam sesh open to both musicians and conductors, participants sign up upon arrival and are then called onstage for a little collective improvisation. This is consistently a good night out, and a solid pick that the whole crew will be happy with.
