Buenos Aires Herald launches a WhatsApp community for timely and useful information

Here’s how to join the Herald’s WhatsApp Channels and get the latest news on your phone

The Buenos Aires Herald is now on WhatsApp. You can join our channel and get handy information for your day-to-day life in Buenos Aires and Argentina, fast — it’s as easy as getting messages from friends and family.

Whether you’re here for a short-term visit or have chosen Argentina as home, it can be tricky getting trustworthy information, in English, when you need it. We’re here to change that.

The Herald aims to bring continuous updates on economics, flight disruptions and major policy changes that could affect English-speakers in Argentina.

You’ll also get access to gourmet recommendations for foodies, travel inspiration and big events to enjoy the multicultural nightlife in Buenos Aires — all without paying for a subscription or downloading a new app.

If you don’t want to miss out, follow us and turn on notifications for our Channel, so you get the information as soon as possible. Remember that for this feature, notifications are muted by default. We promise not to spam you!

To join our Channel, just click on this link. Don’t forget to tap on the bell to activate notifications. When you follow a channel, you’ll see updates like messages, links to information, photos, and videos from them in the Channels section of the Updates tab. It works on desktop, web and mobile.

The Herald would like to get to know you and understand your needs. If you want to help us help the English-speaking community in Argentina, fill in this form to let us know more about your news interests and what information you’d like us to provide. This form won’t collect your personal information.

Don’t forget to react to our updates with emojis — this way we’ll know what subjects are most important to you.

What are WhatsApp Channels?

Meta launched this feature as a private way of following the topics you care about. Privacy is key: a channel’s members can’t see who else is following, and neither can the admins. Your profile information and interactions, like emoji reactions and poll votes, aren’t visible to anyone. Nobody can see your name, phone number, or profile picture.

Clicking on a Channel doesn’t automatically subscribe you to it. You can browse before you follow, and you can unfollow it at any time.

Channels with a verified badge by their names have been verified by WhatsApp. The Buenos Aires Herald holds this badge. Keep an eye out for it to make sure you’re following us.
