The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Argentina, led by Ambassador Saeed Alqemzi, held an interfaith celebration in honor of the month of Ramadan. During the event in Buenos Aires, an “Iftar” was held, the evening meal that marks the breaking of the daily fast during this significant period for the Muslim community.
Ambassador Alqemzi emphasized the importance of the occasion by stating: “The month of Ramadan is not just a time of fasting, but also an opportunity to strengthen solidarity and consolidate the principles of coexistence. This situation is reflected in the United Arab Emirates, a global model of brotherhood among diverse cultures and religions.”
Representatives from various faiths, national and provincial authorities, business leaders, and representatives from a variety of other institutions were invited to break the fast. Among the attendees was Ignacio Vivas, Vice President of Grupo Indalo.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by Muslims around the world as a period of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community, seeking spiritual and moral improvement. The hosting of such events in Argentina reflects and strengthens the bonds of friendship and respect among nations and various religious beliefs.
