Education minister supports school occupations by students

A top national government official yesterday made surprising comments with regard to the recent occupation of several prominent state-run high schools in Buenos Aires.  Education Minister Alberto Sileoni yesterday described the occupation of high schools by their students as “a triumph for democracy” and stated that it was “a demonstration of political maturity that has to be celebrated.”
