Solanas admits his defeat
Proyecto Sur’s mayoral candidate Fernando Solanas admitted defeat, after official results showed he is in third place, far from Mauricio Macri and Daniel Filmus.
“The election was polarized into extreme levels, due to the investment done by the national and City Goverments,” Solanas stated. “Whatever happens in the second round, our votes are free to act as they please,” he added.
“I spent the day in a very quiet way, as far from politics as possible, with my daughter and granddaughter,” the Proyecto Sur leader said.
Earlier, legislator candidate Vilma Ripol said “it is very hard to compete against the Nation and the City’s money in the elections. With the millions they spent in their goal of polarizing the election, they made it,” she said.
After casting his vote earlier today Solanas bashed his closest competitors –Mauricio Macri and Daniel Filmus- for having rejected all debate invitations, and for not addressing the National Government’s bad policies respectively.
“We’ve witnessed a very poor campaign and the cowardice of the City Mayor Mauricio Macri, who refused to debate as he couldn’t face all true facts over his poor administration," he said, adding that "the same thing happened with Filmus.”
