Ramón Díaz resigns as San Lorenzo's coach
Ramón Díaz tendered his resignation as San Lorenzo’s coach after his team was defeated by Tigre 1-0. Sources said Néstor Gorosito could replace him.
“I’m a coach that likes to fight from the top and win, but we are not doing this, so I leave,” Díaz told the press.
“We had the chance in the last four matches to achieve this and we couldn’t. I think it’s unfair to continue with this. I thank the president and the players that gave everything they could in the field,” he continued.
After an hour and 15 minutes, Díaz left the meeting with the club’s president, Carlos Abdo, and assured “there’s no turning back.”
He had returned to the club in the Apertura Tournament 2010 in which San Lorenzo ended in the thirteenth place with 24 units, 21 points from the winner, Estudiantes de La Plata.
In the Clausura, the team currently is in the eleventh place with 15 points, seven less than the leader, Vélez Sársfield.
