Suspect in armored truck robbery refuses to testify
The man believed to have been involved in the gang of robbers that attacked an armored truck in Escobar and killed two police officers last November refused to testify before prosecutor Facundo Flores.
Arturo Guardo arrested while he was running from the authorities last Saturday, following a shoot-out with the police.
The armored truck was ambushed last November 23rd, when twelve men ambushed it in order to steal some $19 million pesos and US$200,000 which belonged to the Bapro bank in San Nicolás, in the Greater Buenos Aires area.
The robbers first killed the two police officers that guarded the armored truck in cold blood and then tried to steal the money, but they weren’t able to do so, so they escaped before the authorities arrived at the scene.
