A seventeen-year old woman died after her partner sprayed her with alcohol and set her on fire. After being hospitalized, the woman had remained in intensive care for two days with severe first, second and third degree burns in her body.

The attacker, who is also the father of her child, remains in police custody.

Angela Alomo lived in Santiago del Estero province with her partner and their 7-month old daughter. On Sunday night, neighbours heard shouting and criying for help coming from the couple’s house.

The woman had been set on fire and was pleading for help along with her child. She was taken to a local hospital, where she remained in intensive care for two days.

Her partner, Raúl Castillo, was arrested, accused of setting Alomo on fire and remains in police custody.
