Cameron says Europe needs deregulation drive

British Prime Minister David Cameron addresses on January 28, 2011 the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos.

British Prime Minister David Cameron called for a major European Union drive to deregulate business and said last year's European bank stress tests did not go far enough.

Speaking of disappointing British GDP figures for the fourth quarter of 2010, Cameron said bad weather was only one of the factors to blame.

"We should be frank. They (figures) also brought home something that we have said for months. Given the trauma of recent years, the recovery was always going to be choppy," Cameron told a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
