Alfonsín 'fed up with the internal primaries debate'

Pre-primary candidate Ricardo Alfonsín is said to be “fed up with the internal primaries debate”. He mentioned that even if he is not successful in the internal pre-elections coming up against Ernesto Sanz, he has not ruled out the possibility of running in August primaries.

Tension within the Radical Party (UCR) has been building up between the pre-candidates, and an ongoing dialogue currently exists between Alfonsín and Ernesto Sanz.

Sanz mentioned that, “my choice would be Sanz as president, Cobos as a candidate for Mendoza Governor, and Alfonsín to govern the Buenos Aires province”. It could be seen that Sanz was purposefully trying to wind Alfonsín up. He further added that, “it would be a privilege to have Hermes Binner as vice-president”.

Alfonsín duly responded, “I won’t get involved in the Mendoza province, so I hope they do not get involved in Buenos Aires”.

He went on to mention that he is, “fed up with talking about the internal primaries. If some wish to speak of the matter to get ahead, they should do it”.
