Boudou launches candidacy for City mayor

Economy Minister Amado Boudou.

Economy Minister Amado Boudou officially launched his BA City Mayor candidacy with large support of the CGT Labour Confederation and his head, Hugo Moyano, who was present at the rally held at the SMATA mechanics' united union headquarters.

Social organizations and picketer groups -headed by Edgardo Depetri and Emilio Pérsico-, along with Planning Minister, Julio De Vido, also accompanied Boudou.

During the rally, Moyano assured that Boudou is "the best possible candidate that workers can have. He is smart and handsome", and added, "I'm convinced that BA citizens will not regret if they pick this man on my left, though I don't think he is a left-winger, as the next City mayor."

The teamsters' leader also referred to Boudou as a man that "has a very clear view of the economy and society, and that's very important."

Moyano also triggered some harsh words to current City Mayor Mauricio Macri: "These gentlemen do not understand a thing about politics. Governing the City is not about dividing the city in two, in south and north. There are parts of the city that demand immediate attention like the southern neighbourhoods."

The event was organized by the 62 Peronist Organizations of the BA City, which are led by Alejandro Amor.
