Theatre: Memento Mori with Nelly Prince

Memento Mori, written by Britain’s Muriel Spark, adapted and directed by Luz Orlando Brennan, is a comedy about death. With the average age of the characters on stage being well over 80, the play is set into motion when they start receiving a series of mysterious phone calls whose only purpose is to remind them that they “must die.” Memento Mori, starring the legendary and multifaceted Nelly Prince, stands out from the bunch not only because of how wisely dark humour is used to deal with a most gruesome topic, but because of how it deals with an issue that few plays in the off-theatre scene deal with today: that is, what life is like at old age, and what troubles come with it.

Sundays at 6pm at El Camarín de las Musas (Mario Bravo 960).
Tickets at $200. Discounts available for students and senior citizens.
