Seven days

By Michael Soltys / Senior Editor
FRIDAY. Buenos Aires province teachers extend their strike into this week. South Korean President Park Geun-hye is removed from office for corruption, following in the footsteps of Brazil’s Dilma Rousseff seven months ago.

LAST WEEKEND. News is entirely dominated by the stampede at the Carlos “el Indio” Solari concert in Olavarría, leaving two people dead.
MONDAY.  Fox/Turner win the battle to broadcast soccer

TUESDAY. The town hall helm of Itatí in Corrientes is arrested for peddling hash.

WEDNESDAY. Buenos Aires Governor María Eugenia Vidal offers attendance bonuses to teachers shunning the strike. Massive picket activity earlier in the day is interrupted by a torrential downpour in the afternoon. President Mauricio Macri replaces Carlos Regazzoni with Sergio Cassinotti (close to Vidal) as the head of the PAMI health care service for pensioners. Rightwing populist Geert Wilders underperforms his previous opinion polls in the Dutch elections — not for the first time.

THURSDAY.  The CGT calls a general strike for April 6. Macri pays a bilateral visit to Paraguay.                  w
