Buenos Aires' teachers: beginning of school year depends on Scioli's administration
Buenos Aires teachers today warned that the beginning of the school year will depend on how provincial authorities respond to their salary demands.
In statements to a local radio, the head of SUTEBA teachers’ union Roberto Baradel today said “we want to go forward with the demands while kids are at school. We asked them (authorities) for a meeting in November of last year and the meeting has not been held yet.”
"We hope the economic situation is stabilized first, because we end up losing workers when there are price hikes,” he added, warning teachers remained on alert. “In the province of Buenos Aires, we should be discussing more than the salary issue,” he said.
