Concordia: one dead in lootings amid police protest

The Governor of Entre Ríos Sergio Urribarri today confirmed one person died during lootings reported last night in the city of Concordia amid a protest staged by the provincial police force on wage hikes demands.

“Calm has returned,” the governor told reporters adding "the problem occurred between 8 and 9 pm.” He said he called Security Secretary Sergio Berni at 11:05 pm and they decided to immediately deploy Prefecture and Gendarmerie forces.”

Urribarri informed a man was electrocuted allegedly while prowling a store.
