Teachers to lift strike if midyear bonus is paid
Baradel reiterated today teachers will lift the strike scheduled to start when classes were presumed to resume.
SUTEBA teachers’ union secretary-general Roberto Baradel reiterated today teachers will lift the strike scheduled to start after July’s winter break if the midyear bonus is paid by next week.
The unionist spoke during a press conference held this morning after the national government announced last night an extra AR$ 600 million financial aid to the province and Buenos Aires governor affirmed the bonus will be entirely paid “by the end of the month.”
Last Thursday, Baradel said students would come back to an empty class if the benefit was not paid by July 27th.
“Classes will not resume after the winter holidays (July 16-27), if the province does not pay all the midyear bonuses,” he had pointed out last week.
