Subway stalemate: Randazzo says Macri 'running out of options'

Randazzo said he trusted the City administration would “finally” go through with the handover.

Interior minister Florencio Randazzo reiterated today the City’s responsibility for the subway system administration. The official stated Buenos Aires City mayor Mauricio Macri was “running out of options” while stressing the local government should accept responsibility for the system.

“I trust the head of the City government will act accordingly. They have to take charge as they are running out of options,” said the official during a radio interview today.

“It is clear whose responsibility the subway as it represents a city provided service,” the minister explained.

Randazzo also said he trusted the City administration would “finally” go through with the handover.

“I put myself in the general population’s shoes. They listen to all of this and don’t know whose responsibility it is; only that no one is taking charge.”
