Gov't has 'no constitutional reform plans,' Aníbal Fernández
Senator Alberto Fernández assured that the Government ha no plans of carrying out a constitutional reform and said that speculation about the 2013 legislative elections is “obscene.”
“A constitutional reform is not in our agenda,” the former Cabinet Chief insisted, and said he issues about an eventual modification haven’t reached him neither in a formal way at the Senate nor as mere gossip either.
Thus, Fernández dismissed rumours saying that the Government is aiming to reform the Constitution in order to allow President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to run for a third term in the 2015 elections.
Regarding the possibility of running as a candidate in the 2013 legislative elections, Fernández bluntly said “we are ages away from that. To speak of those matters right now obscene. When the time comes, will see what happens,” he added.
