Food industry workers block off 9 de Julio Avenue

Downtown Buenos Aires has been brought to a standstill once again due to traffic blocks along the 9 de Julio Avenue. Protesters from the food industry blocked all lanes in both directions at the Corrientes Avenue intersection causing numerous traffic inconveniences today.

To avoid further hassle, police have been diverting the traffic to adjacent streets. Unionists from the food sector made their way downtown today to demonstrate against job cuts in the industry and demand better wages.
